+About Mitra Lee Worley

The introductory courses in the Nalandabodhi Path of Study explore the basic principles of Buddhism and lay the foundation for deeper studies, including being introduced to the views of different Buddhist schools. Each of these courses consists of four or five classes.

  • The Life of the Buddha and the Spiritual Journey (INT 101)
  • Traveling from Confusion to Original Sanity (INT 102)
  • Karma, Rebirth, and Selflessness (INT 103)
  • The Four Foundations of Mindfulness (INT 104)

This brief outline is a general overview of the introductory courses. A complete detailed syllabus and selection of reading materials is available to Nalandabodhi members and participants enrolled in the Path of Study program. You can take these classes at Nalandabodhi centers and study group locations, or through online study. The Introduction to Buddhism series is tuition-free for both the public and members. Take the Courses
When I first started this class I had very little knowledge of Buddhism, but over the course of just 16 weeks I’ve learned an immense amount.

Every class starts with a short lecture and discussion but we also have a real conversation where everyone gets a chance to be heard. It’s a pretty diverse group of people, with a lot of variety in ages and religious backgrounds. When I started this course I didn’t know what a “sangha” was, but now I get it. This really feels like a community. I’m excited to go to class every Wednesday night.
