Mark Power has been a student of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition for 30 years, beginning his journey with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, then continued with his western dharma successor, Osel Tendzin. In 1993 Mark began studying under the direction of The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, and has worked with Rinpoche and the Nalandabodhi community as an administrator and as a member of the Mitra Council (the council of western teachers for Nalandabodhi.) His teaching integrates the Buddha's teaching with daily experience. Within the Nalandabodhi Study and Practice paths, Mark facilitates discussions highlighting mindfulness and compassion in daily life.
As a board certified chaplain works at Seattle Children's Hospital on a palliative care team. His approach to spiritual care combines the compassionate intentions of Buddhist contemplative practice with interfaith ministry. Mark has worked primarily in end-of-life-care settings.
Mark has been married to his wife, Marion for 25 years. Together they have two daughters, Cynthia (age 22) and Katherine (age 16). Ever loyal "Buddy" is the family hound around whom much of family lore revolves!
