Chenrezig Practice for Peace

In February 2022, when the war in Ukraine began, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche instructed us to practice a short Chenresig sadhana, which is composed out of excerpts from All-Pervading Benefit of Beings: The Meditation and Recitation of the Great Compassionate One and True Words to Alleviate the Anxieties of Strife-both texts by Mahāsiddha Thangtong Gyalpo (1361-1485). Rinpoche says: “During a time of intense conflict in the Minyak region of Dokham, when it seemed no resolution was in sight, Thangtong Gyalpo arrived at the center of great unrest. With an enlightened heart, he recited a potent prayer that resulted in bountiful harvests and brought an end to that conflict.

Under the perfect guidance of Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl, we began our support for Ukraine. Now, over two years later, the war rages further and also in the area of Gaza and, unfortunately, in many other countries. Many sentient beings are also affected by many other conflicts and challenges.

We continue our practice. It is said that just reciting the vajra speech of Mahāsiddha Thangtong Gyalpo, the “True Words to Alleviate the Fears of Strife”, and even an Om Mani Padme Hum are of unimaginable benefit.

Please consider joining this practice for the benefit of countless beings around the world.

Talk by Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl

Due to this, Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl kindly accepted a request to give a short talk on time, impermanence, fear and hope, and the purpose of doing the practice in the context of this war during the practice session on Friday, February 24th 2023.

Join our practice

NB Europe will host the sessions every Monday on Zoom until further notice.
