Stephanie grew up in northern Illinois, in a small town with a small family. She attended Carthage College beginning in 2008 and received her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology and Religious Studies in 2012. Coming from a working class family, Stephanie supported her educational pursuits by working in the service and hospitality fields.
In 2015, Stephanie was admitted into Naropa University’s Master of Arts, specializing in Indo-Tibetan Religious Studies with Sanskrit and Tibetan Language, graduating in 2018. While at Naropa, she attended Nitartha Institute in 2016. Deeply inspired by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche’s teachings, Stephanie joined the staff of Nitartha Summer Institute in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Stephanie joyfully became a student of Rinpoche in the summer of 2018.
Currently residing in Seattle, Stephanie enjoys running, hiking, and camping. She also loves spending time snuggling and walking her dog, Kraken. She is a fan of horror films, Kurt Vonnegut novels, and folk music. If not at Nalanda West, you might find her jogging around Green Lake, taking Kraken for a walk, or getting some nachos with her fiancé, Ben.
