NalandaWest Capital Campaign

In honor of the 10th Anniversary of NalandaWest, we have launched a capital campaign to pay down our mortgage loan.

Our approach to paying the mortgage is to keep our monthly payment the same, while applying donations to the principal (rather than just paying the interest). This means that our debt will be paid much more quickly.

One of our sangha members has generously issued a matching challenge grant. If we raise $30,000, the person will match this amount, then $60,000 will be applied to the principal of our mortgage loan. Our challenge? We’ll have to pull together and raise the $30,000 by September 30, 2014!

Due to the generosity of our fellow sangha members, we have already raised $16,839 so far!

Thank you to all who have already joined the effort. With everyone participating, we are confident we can raise the remaining $13,611 to meet the $30,000 challenge grant.

With this matching challenge grant, for every dollar you offer, it means that two dollars is being applied to NalandaWest’s mortgage principal — doubling your donation.

You can be assured that every little bit counts–especially in this case. With the challenge grant, you are doubling your donation. So please give whatever you can.

Once we have completely paid off NalandaWest’s mortgage, we will have freed up sangha resources to devote to many dharma activities inspired by our founder, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche. Imagine that!

“Genuine altruism comes from a state of equanimity. We’re at peace with ourselves and content with what we have. Having overcome self-fixation, we’re relaxed and happy. Giving is effortless and a source of joy.”
– Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche
