href=\"http:\/\/chogyamtrungpa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chogyam Trungpa Legacy Project<\/a> made available the entire 2-hour recording of a panel discussion with three esteemed Buddhist teachers, one in a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/chogyamtrungpa.com\/the-profound-treasury\/events\/\">series\u00a0of four events<\/a>\u00a0honoring the publication of\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shambhala.com\/profoundtreasury.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma.<\/a><br \/><\/em><\/p><p>The panel was hosted by <a href=\"http:\/\/rubinmuseum.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The\u00a0Rubin Museum\u00a0of Art<\/a>\u00a0in New York City in 2014, in which\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dpr.info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche<\/a>, founder and spiritual guide of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nalandabodhi.org\/nl\/\">Nalandabodhi<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/judylief.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Acharya Judith Leif<\/a>, Buddhist teacher and author,\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ethannichtern.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shastri Ethan Nichtern<\/a>, head of the Interdependence Project\u00a0discussed the life and legacy\u00a0of Buddhist teacher\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/chogyamtrungpa.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche<\/a>\u00a0and his three-volume collection on Tibetan Buddhism,\u00a0compiled and edited by Judith Leif:\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shambhala.com\/profoundtreasury.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma.<\/a><\/em><\/p><p>Moderator\u00a0Melvin McLeod, editor-in-chief of <em>Leeuwenbrul<\/em> magazine, formerly known as <em>Shambhala Sun<\/em>, opened the conversation by inviting Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche to make some introductory remarks.<\/p><p>With his trademark humor and clear explanations, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche began with a remembrance of his first meeting with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, in New York City in 1980, when Chogyam Trungpa gave Dzogchen Ponlop an <em>original copy<\/em> of the material now contained in <em>The\u00a0Profound Treasury<\/em>.<\/p><p>During this panel, Ponlop Rinpoche remarked that Chogyam Trungpa was a &#8220;pioneer of Tibetan Buddhism in the West,&#8221; who brought the genuine teachings and lineage of the East together with the culture and psyche of the West.<\/p><p>Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, author of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Rebel-Buddha-Guide-Revolution-Mind\/dp\/1590309294\"><em>Rebel Buddha: A Guide to Revolution of Mind<\/em><\/a>, is known as a strong proponent of American and Western Buddhism.<\/p><p>Among other subjects in the 2-hour panel, Ponlop Rinpoche spoke about the Buddhist tradition of the guru principle. &#8220;There is so much misconception about the guru,&#8221; he said, adding that the guru offers genuine love and compassion and that is what Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche did: He offered genuine love and compassion.<\/p><p>Listen to the entire discussion of Dzogchen
