Online Series of Mitra Dean Karl Brunnhölzl.
In this series of talks, we will explore the teachings on Mahāmudrā by the Tibetan master of yogīs, Milarepa, primarily based on his song called Ultimate View, Meditation, Conduct, and Fruition, which is his culminating instruction to Rechungpa, his main disciple besides Gampopa.
Milarepa sang this song with a teaching template that is common to a lot of his songs. It consists of view as the basis or ground, meditation as the training in or the familiarization with that view, conduct as the natural outflow of having familiarized with the view in meditation, and fruition as the final outcome of having fully assimilated and realized the view.
In addition, we will look at a number of other songs of Milarepa that supplement the instructions in Ultimate View, Meditation, Conduct, and Fruition.
You can read more about Milarepa’s Kungfu in Mitra Karl Brunnhölzl his book with the same title: Milarepa’s Kungfu: Mahamudra in his Songs of Realization. Click here for more information about this book, published by Wisdom Publications.
