Tashi Delek and Happy Birthday Rinpoche!!

Your students rejoice in your example, teaching and activity, and offer gratitude and joyful appreciation on this, your 60th birthday, (on the Western calendar)!

Today, many of us will gather to engage in the practice of Khadiravani and afterward share sweets, songs and toast your long life and liberating activity of benefitting sentient beings.

You remain the guiding sun for our paths, illuminating the genuine and safeguarding us against false paths. Your “Go”-kindness awakens the tender heart of compassion in fortunate students where the wish arises to ease the suffering of others. May our wisdom and exertion grow so that we join together in this constellation of benefit.

We pray that you and your family travel safely and easily to Nepal where you will honor the one year anniversary of the parinirvana of Khenchen Vajradhara Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, “The Best Guru!”, and where there will be auspicious gatherings reciting prayers to establish the conditions for your long life and joyous activity!

We offer our love along with our commitment to your vision of establishing cultures of genuine dharma!

May you live long and always be at ease in your unceasing compassionate activity!

Sarva Mangalam!

Your Nalandabodhi Family

Connecting the Disconnected: The Four Immeasurables

In this article, Mitra Lee teaches: “Using our imagination enables us to expand our mind toward great love and great compassion, which are much more useful for bringing us into connection than are negative thinking and judgment. Kleshas, negative emotions, or depressing thoughts can really bring us down and cause despair, despondency, and disconnection. If we want to connect with ourselves and others, imagining, cultivating, and offering love and joy will be of much more benefit.”
