Tibetan Calendar 2026: Fire Horse Year

Available now through the Nalanda Store

We’re delighted to announce the 2026 Complete Tibetan Calendar, co-published by Nalandabodhi and Nitartha International. The year 2026 marks the Fire Horse year in the Tibetan calendar, and this edition beautifully explores the theme of Faith & Devotion in Buddhist Teachings through carefully selected images and inspiring quotations.

A Living Tradition

This calendar serves as both a practical guide and a precious preservation of lineage wisdom. It includes:

  • Important Buddhist holidays and practice days
  • Anniversaries of significant lineage figures
  • Auspicious dates for meditation and spiritual activities
  • Daily conjunction between the Tibetan Tsurluk lunisolar and Western Gregorian calendars
  • The Phukluk calendar for reference

Preserving Rare Wisdom

More than a decade ago, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche set in motion the aspiration to preserve the ancient Tsurluk lunisolar astrological system—a tradition unique to the Kagyu Lineage that might otherwise be lost to time. Each year’s calendar continues this vital work of cultural and lineage preservation.

Support This Project

By purchasing this calendar, you directly support the continuation of this important preservation work. These beautiful calendars make meaningful gifts and serve as daily reminders of the path of practice throughout the year.

Kleshas, negative emotions, or depressing thoughts can really bring us down and cause despair, despondency, and disconnection. If we want to connect with ourselves and others, imagining, cultivating, and offering love and joy will be of much more benefit.”
