Four Ways of Nurturing Others - NB Mexico Dharma Night with Acharya Tashi Wangchuk

When: Wednesday, March 20, 7pm Mexico and 5pm Pacific

Languages: English with Spanish translation.

Topic: Helping Others to Flourish
Seeing someone struggling or suffering often triggers our instinct to help. However, our intentions, though well-meant, may not always align with what’s truly beneficial.

How can we train our mind and develop the skills to support, empower and create the conditions for others to flourish?

We will explore this topic with Acharya Tashi and learn about methods we can use to bring impact on the lives of both oneself and others. In the Mahāyāna teachings of the bodhisattva vehicle, it is said that one practices the six pāramitās for one’s own development and practices “the four ways of nurturing” for the direct benefit of others. These four ways or methods are: giving what is needed, engaging in pleasing speech, partaking in meaningful conduct, and manifesting accordingly.

Known as the four attractive qualities of a Bodhisattva, these practices inspire and magnetize beings who are suffering, helping them to find and engage on a path that will free them.

Dharma Night
Dharma Night is an informal gathering where we talk about dharma and life, learning from each other’s challenges and experiences. We’ll meditate a little, offer a topic, and talk together. This program is open to everyone and it’s free of charge.
