Fitri was born and raised in a Buddhist family in Indonesia. She met Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche when he was teaching at Hong Kong University in 2010 and requested to become his formal student. At that time, she was a Mahayana nun pursuing her PhD in Buddhist Studies. She then went to Nepal to meet Khenpo Tsültrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and returned her monastic vows shortly after this encounter.

Since then, she has been a member of Nalandabodhi and  a student at Nitartha Institute. In her free time, Fitri enjoys traveling, music, photography, and watercolor painting.
