Karma Ösung Gyaltsen (birth name: Fransiscus Ismaël) is a Tibetan-Buddhist novice in the Karma-Kagyü lineage, Frisian philosopher and student of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche. He received his monastic vows on July 4th, 2022, from His Eminence Gyaltsab Rinpoche at Rumtek Monastery and, following the guidance of his teachers and studied at Sarah College (near Dharamsala, India) after being a participant in the Three Paths Residential Program at Nalanda West, our Nalandabodhi ‘micro-sangha’ in Seattle (United States). Currently, he focuses on supporting his direct guide and teacher, Acharya Lhakpa Tshering, and studying the works of the great master Gampopa, the Tibetan language, and the Vinaya.
