His Holiness Karmapa focused on the environment during his recent visit to Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. On April 7th, HH Karmapa met with students and gave an afternoon Chubb Fellow lecture on “Compassion in Action: Buddhism and the Environment”. Watch the video here.

This was a “fireside chat” with Chade-Meng Tan, which was live streamed to all of Google’s offices worldwide, but can now be viewed by all online.
On April 4th, His Holiness Karmapa visited Karma Thegsum Chöling-New Jersey (KTC-NJ) in southern New Jersey to give his first major Dharma teaching during his current trip to the US. HH Karmapa taught meditation methods and practiced shamatha together with a gathering of over 700 attendees, before conferring an empowerment for Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom. His Holiness Karmapa recently visited Princeton, his fourth stop on a tour of major American universities. Immersing himself in university life, HH Karmapa met with students, attended classes, and spoke on contemporary social issues from a Buddhist perspective, giving a talk titled, “A Buddhist Perspective: The Environment, Gender and Activism.” Watch the video of the talk here.
